People do change and people do recognize their weaknesses and problems they had when they were younger. Though it's a ghastly, nasty shame that you were so treated as a kid, the best that can happen is that those who enabled as well as participated in this sort of bullying have grown up to recognize the gruesome behavior and are changing it now, both personally and in wider circles. You having nightmares and five years of your life you blocked out resurfacing, and me, pliant and anxious, now facing the possibility of walking into a classroom every day being reminded of my own abusers and Faking Okay anyway because Don't Make Waves That's Not How You Survive. anonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08634105810963896269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147438406266555027.post-60051161697627797252015-04-11T20:39:33.715-07:002015-04-11T20:39:33.715-07:00I don't think he knew it was you, just that yo...I don't think he knew it was you, just that you looked familiar, and then he realized who you were when I told him your name. Or he was faking that too :( I don't understand social cues at all, I could be getting it all wrong. I'm so scared about going back to his class. I don't know how to handle people who act nice but are actually scary because Great Fucking Past :c and I also don't know how to read intentions which is actually why the Great Fucking Past happened.

Now I'm probably going to be sitting in class every day wondering if the person at the front of the room is someone like Josh and Justin which will make me think of them, and hating myself for Being Fake Okay To Survive instinct thing that always manages to get me taken advantage of.

Wow, that actually isn't a great thing to say to a student. Wow I, wow. anonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08634105810963896269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147438406266555027.post-19892531021341770412015-04-11T20:14:48.607-07:002015-04-11T20:14:48.607-07:00that kind of makes it worse because it indicates h...that kind of makes it worse because it indicates he had time to think about it & decided that was a great idea to have the conversation.
